When do you think this was made?

Hello, I just listed this lovely picture on my Etsy store:_DSC0020The question is, when do you think it was made?

I was attracted to it because of it’s 1940s feel, southwestern imagery. I have a line of Homer Laughlin tableware from the late 30s that is called “Hacienda” which has similiar colors, similar subject matter:homer_laughlin_hacienda_bread_butter_plate_P0000037793S0008T2It’s pretty, isn’t it?

Anyway, I bought this needlepoint because it looked kinda 1940’s, but then I focused on the mat board which has a 1980’s quality to it. The frame is very nondescript, it doesn’t shout any particular time to me. It is wood, and very narrow. It is a little dirty, dirty that light cleaning could not clean up, but not banged up.

So what do you think? When was this made?_DSC0021 _DSC0022

About Gotcha Cha Cha

Hello, I am making this blog to complement my store on Etsy. I sell "found" art and lovely illustrations from unusable vintage books. I also love my 2 cats (Lupe and Cha Cha, hence the inspiration for the store/blog name) and one dog (Daisy a beagle), not to mention my 2 school age daughters, and my husband who can draw anything and does that for a living.

  1. Yes, it could be the sixties. I just can’t say for certain!
